The Pleasure Dome
In the 1970s Jonas Mekas described avant-garde cinema as “a cinema treading on the very edge of perversity. These artists are without inhibitions” he wrote, “sexual or any other kind.” This session explores the queer history of experimental film. From the charged erotics of Kenneth Anger’s explosive Fireworks (1949), to the unprecedented explicitness of Barbara Hammer’s Dyketactics (1974), to the playful reworking of pornographic imagery in Naomi Uman’s Removed (1999); this screening showcases these and other avant-garde shorts that court perversity in a variety of ways.

Mindless Fleshapoids Are Easy: A Trans-Viral Technophilic Oz.

Forget the mind/crotch-numbing colonialist blanditudes of Star Trek/Wars. Mindless Fleshapoids is a politicised, fast-moving showcase of classic queer Sci-Fi/Fantasy erotica, underground SF/F porn, & current internet SF porn production. A night of hott SF/F that explores representations of the utopic/dystopic & liberatory possibilities for the queerest sex in the queerest of universes. In the outerlands of radical imaginaries & speculative sex-fictions where body-morphs, post-contact perversions, techno-fetish & denaturalised Post/transhuman identities entangle & proliferate & of course, share a slimy post-coital cigarette. Come aboard your presentation unit, the starship HotMeSS Regrette Etcetera, member of The Fauxist International (http://thefauxistinternational.wordpress.com/) & compete for costume prizes as the robotic-hotties, lesbionic animatronics, crass abduction narratives, & drooling amorphous fetish-swarms vie for your ocular-orgones.

Wicked Women was a 7 years 1989 -1996 eruption of queer erotic art & performance porn started by Jasper Laybutt and Lisa Salmon. WW started as a photocopied SM magazine, it quickly captured mass imagination and exploded into 4 printed magazines a year, to underground warehouse parties, to the Ms & Mr Wicked competition that explored sexual fantasies on stage, they pushed the boundaries of sex and play in a conservative time and created a home for sex radicals and fetishists.
Come back in time and celebrate these pioneers with films, special guest talks, and photo archives. 90’s music by Dj Gemma and MC reigning Ms Wicked Sex Intents

Thundercrack (1975)
Before Pink Flamingos and Mondo Trasho there was Thundercrack!
When an electrical storm hits in the backwoods of America, a curious collection of commuters seek shelter in a nearby house. Greeted by a gloriously drunk and mildly unhinged widower with a houseful of secrets and an insatiable sexual appetite, the group find themselves the recipients of an inimitable brand of hospitality. Shot in black and white, this trash cinema classic by underground visionary Curt McDowell is one part gothic horror, one part camp melodrama and one part pornography. Featuring unforgettable scenes involving a gorilla on heat, recreational cucumber use, and a blowup doll, Thundercrack blazes its own trail of brazen bawdiness.
